Roaming/Handoff between AC1200 and WNDAP360
We have a Wifi network in the 5GHz range with a single WNDAP360.
We use the ascom I62 WLAN Phones with good results.
Now we had to extend the coverage of the 5GHz network.
Sine we can't place a second WNDAP360 (due to missing network cables) we descided to use a range extender AC1200 for this.
This works fine, with the exception of the roaming/handoff.
When a handover occurs from the AC1200 to the WNDAP360 or vice versa, then we have a 3-5 second "silence" on the phone.
Most of the time it then continues to work, but sometimes the VOIP connection drops completely.
What do I have as options to provide seamless roaming/handoff without gap in the audio?
Would a second WNDAP360 configured as repeater improve the situation?

Re: Roaming/Handoff between AC1200 and WNDAP360
It all depends on the AP's (and clients). The AP's need to support seamless roaming, (SOHO hardware, not so much) but there can be issues with voice and WIFI roaming - not an easy task really. Here's an forum post that discusses it. Hope it helps (somewhat)..
