Setting up my extender issues

I purchased an AC1200 Wifi Range Extender EX6110 and as I’m setting it up (through the website, not WPS connection) it asks me to stay connected to my extender to set up the wifi. I cannot access links or online pages without disconnecting from the extender and back to the wifi, which only leaves me with a page telling me i’m not connected to the extender. How am I supposed to set up a wifi connection for my extender - without access to wifi from the extender?

First it helps to understand the process. There is no "website" as most people know it, something out there on the Internet. If you mean a browser and a wired PC. it is the graphical user interface (GUI).

You need to connect the PC, or a mobile device, to the wifi from the extender, it should be the NETGEAR_EXT SSID.

How are you trying to connect to that?

What router sits between the extender and the Internet?

That is what WPS is for.

Re: Setting up my extender issues

At what process in the setup are you?

You connected to the extender for setup?

You entered in all your routers information and either setup a unique ssid for the extender or the same ssid and then went to next?
if so, log into the router and look for the IP address for the extender. use that to connect to it and finish setup.
