Re: Unable to connect second extender Powerline WiFi 1000 - encryption key does not match

I'll try to keep this simple. I purchased 2 PowerLINE WiFi 100 Essentials Edition (model PLW1010v2), as I need to extend my network in two areas. I plugged the first one in, set it up, and it's working, no problem. When I plug in the second one in, the pick a plug light never comes on (the adapter did not find any other compatible PowerLINE devices using the same encryption key). I purchased these together. One set has the WiFi network name NETGEAR80_EXT, and the other set is NETGEAR62_EXT. Does mean these will not work with each other? The system is meant to be able to add up to 8 devices, but I can't figure out how to add even one more. The adapter plugged into the router is the NETGEAR80_EXT, with the matching WiFi adapter down the hall working fine. When I try to set up the 2nd WiFi adapter in another room (I've tried it the same room as the router/adapter too), the pick a plug light does not come on. Is there anything I can do to make these compatible?

Re: Unable to connect second extender Powerline WiFi 1000 - encryption key does not match
This worked. I used the first WiFi adapter to set up the 2nd one and now have connectivity. So that is solved.
But I now have a different problem. I only have two outlets in the space I need to use it. The preferred outlet location does not seem to work. It connects, but the pick a plug light is either red or goes off completely, dropping the connection. (I imagine this is why I was having trouble connecting earlier). I then tried the other outlet (which has a GFI so I thought it may not work). It works great. However, it forces me to move all my other devices to the other outlet, with wires running across the room- not at all ideal. Sounds like an electrical issue at this point. Any advice?

Re: Unable to connect second extender Powerline WiFi 1000 - encryption key does not match
it could be interference. You can try unplugging outlets in the vacinity of the non-working outlet. Maybe one of them is going bad or injecting interference.
You can also check the breaker. Some have issues with arc fault breakers.
