Unable to do factory reset wn3000rpv3

Changed the internet provider, the new router does not have wps button.
Tried factory reset, but a previous setting is still there. Should I have now netgear.ext?
None of the netgear support explanations help.

many times people reset, they don't do it right. 

Push and hold reset while its powered on and hold it for at least 7-15 seconds. 

that should get it back to stock. then you should be able to connect to the netgear_ext and go through setup.
