Unable to reset N300RE range extender

I was pointed in the direction of Netgear by the On Networks support page (http://support.on-networks.com/) so I'm hoping someone can help.

I bought an On Networks N300RE Range Extender a couple of years ago and it was working fine. Recently though I got a new router from my broadband provider, and thereby a new network. However, despite numerous attempts to factory reset the N300RE, when I plug it, it shows my old network name and there seems to be nothing I can do to point this to my network.

I'm on a PC running WIndows 10. If anyone can help I'd be most grateful. Thanks.

Hello Bringitonskippy

Have you tried to connect to the device via ethernet to re setup the extender I posted a link to the manual here and you can follow from page 8 how to log in.

Re: Unable to reset N300RE range extender

Hi, Having the same problem, unable to get rid of the last hookup and factory reset not working. I don't have access directly to the router, in a shared wifi setting in an rv park. Any suggestions?

Hello greatgranpat

Re: Unable to reset N300RE range extender

Hi... you've saved my life, thanks so much! Never even occurred to me to try hooking it up with an ethernet cable. I've now reset it and connected it to my new network. Many thanks indeed!

Just need to point out to other users that the web address now seems to be www.mywifiext.net ("ext" rather than "extender").
