Using AC2300 Smart WiFi Router as a mesh range extender?
I needed to purchase a mesh rane extender for my house, so I went to purchase one at Best Buy. The worker recommended just purchasing a router to use as the extender, and that it works better.
I'm home trying to set it up and I cannot figure out how to change this AC2300 Nighthawk into a range extender. Can someone help?

Re: Using AC2300 Smart WiFi Router as a mesh range extender?
The best buy guy steered you wrong. Some routers have extender mode (getting rarer) but that model doesn't.
And most that allow you to turn the router into an extender, don't support mesh mode.
What I'd recommend?
If you're only needing 1 extender, look at netgears triband extenders. Much better performing (significantly) than standard extenders.
If you're needing more than 1, upgrade to an actual mesh network like netgear's Orbi lineup. Extenders work great when you only need 1 but if you need more, a true mesh system is a much better plan. And they've come down significantly in price. Especially if you look at the renewed versions on amazon.
