WN2500RP V1 , V2 and FW confusion.
I was just wondering. Since when is there a version 2 for the WN2500RP ? I have never noticed this before. There were always three FW versions available for this extender, the latest version 1.0.0.30 and the previous versions 1.0.0.26 and 1.0.0.24.
Now, the latest version 1.0.0.30 is only available for the V2. The.26 and.24 versions are now just for the V1. This is either a mistake or there is problem with 1.0.0.30 on a V1 device since it was untill recently available for the V1.
Since the FCC approval date for the WN2500RP V2 was on 22 January 2014 I have to assume that I have version 1, since I bought the device last year.
Is there a problem with FW version 1.0.0.30 on a WN2500RP-V1 (previously known as just the WN2500RP) Are we with V1 devices and FW 1.0.0.30 all adviced to go back to at least 1.0.0.26 ?

Re: WN2500RP V1 , V2 and FW confusion.
V# is define by reading the product label attach to bottom of the unit itself.
If don't not say V2 then you have V1
V# represents changes hardware and can not use V2 firmware on V1 verse versa. Just because there is not firmware for one V# doesn't mean it is less or more.
You can confirm with support if this model has same hardware that possible that you cross reference but in general you will not able to.

If there's nothing wrong with your unit I suggest you stick with your current firmware.
If there is, raise this to support team so they can provide you some troubleshooting needed.

Re: WN2500RP V1 , V2 and FW confusion.
Thanks for the replies. I do know the hardware differences between the versions but I was surprised to see the retraction of FW version 1.00.30 on the download section of this site for my WN2500RP.
While I was writing this reply I checked my FW and compared this with the V2 version. Now it seems that the retracted latest FW version is 1.0.0.30_1.0.58 which is different from the V2 version which is 1.0.0.30_1.0.41. I initially thought the 1.00.30 versions were the same.
The question remains. What could be the reason to remove the 1.00.30 firmware for the V1 version from the download section ?
It could be just a mistake.

Re: WN2500RP V1 , V2 and FW confusion.
Maybe there are some issues, that I am not sure of.
Just remember v1 firmwares are only for v1 hardware.
This is because of the different architecture of every hardware revision.
