We had the WN500RP in use with a previous Netgear modem/router. We have just installed the Nighthawk and it functions fine. We cannot get the Extender to recognize the new router. I have tried a reset to no avail. I don't believe the Nighthawk has a WSP button. Are they compatible? When I enter the extender's isp into my Chrome browser, the link is not availible.
When you factory reset the extender make sure you are holding the reset button for 10+ seconds then try setup again. If you still can not connect to the wifi try to connect directly to the unit via ethernet.
The idiot (me) finally got everything hooked up. I tried (unsuccessfully) to hook it up with my desktop which was hardwired to our Nighthawk. When I used the tablet, 'BINGO'.
Lesson learned? If it's fool proof, I'm just the fool to prove it.
