WN3000RP and WEP password

I have 128 bit WEP encryption on my Dlink DIR-615 router. I have tried multiple times to factory reset the WN3000RP range extender after automatically and manually pairing the range extender to the router, but the password is always rejected by the extender's _ext network. The extender is set up adjacent to the router, this is not a range issue.

suggest to use WPA2.... WEP are usually fail to work and hackable
