Re: WN3000RP disconnects
This way all the other devices trying to access the extender for a WPS authentication will be refused prior to try the connection.

Re: WN3000RP disconnects
I'm still having this problem 6 years later! If by chance you read this help would be appreciated. I'm trying to set up the MAC list mentioned above, and have added my phone and laptop to the list, but as a test have not added my ipad. Have clicked apply, exited from settings, yet can still access internet through Ipad, even though it is not on the approved MAC list?

Re: WN3000RP disconnects
Were you also able to follow these steps for the WN3000RP?
http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/19070/~/wn3000rp-faqs
Disable the MAC filter on your router temporarily when installing your extender.
After you finish installing your extender, log in to the extender by visiting http://www.mywifiext.net.
Select the Attached device option on the left. It shows information about each computer attached to your extender.
Add all MAC addresses shown on the Virtual MAC address column into your router.
Note: The Attached Devices page might be different on your router.
"Set up Access Control"
Please also make sure you have updated to the latest firmware:

Re: WN3000RP disconnects
Sorry I'm not sure I follow. The MAC filter on my router has always been disabled. So I should now enable it on my router, and add only the virtual MAC address shown on the extender? What about devices using the router, but not to the extender? Do I need to do anything to the wireless access list on the extender?

Re: WN3000RP disconnects
Temporarily disable MAC filter on your router
Connect all your devices to the extender.
Log into mywifiext.net and look at the attached devices
Copy all the MAC addresses listed and Paste it into your Router's MAC filter.
Also input all your devices' MAC that connect to your router (including the Extender's MAC) into the Router's MAC filter.
Enable MAC filter on your router

Re: WN3000RP disconnects
Excellent. Some devices are showing 2 MAC addresses, one is just labeled MAC and the other Virtual MAC - which should I use?

You can also check with EE to see if it's an issue with their router's firmware

Re: WN3000RP disconnects
I've rung them numerous times and tried pretty much everything they've suggested, and assured me will fix the problem, except move the router to the main BT socket. But seeing as they keep saying it's not an issue with the line, I can't see how that will make a difference. Perhaps it's time to change ISP. Anyway, thank you all for your help.
