WN3000RP range extender problems

I have two WN3000RP range extenders, one for the house and one for our solar panel system, we use it so that the solar system can communicate with its program on my computer (just through a simple wired connection to the extender).  A couple of days ago I did a factory reset on my router and updated its software.  The range extender in the house went back to working normally, the other extender that the solar system uses, did not.  The solar system wasn't communicating with the program meaning it wasn't connecting to our internet through the extender.  I checked the extender and the link rate status symbol was red and then no light completely.  I tried turning it off and on and even unplugged and replugged the wired connection to the solar system. When that didn't work I did a factory reset on the extender and then paired it with our router via WPS.  After that then link rate status went back to orange (connected but not strong, that's how it normall was before as it is very far from the router).  The solar system then said it was communicating but when I went back to the computer program it was doing the same thing as before.  Then I noticed that the extender, lets call it wifi_ext2 wasn't even showing up as a connection option on my computer or phone as it normally would, it had seemingly dissapeared.  I attempted to try and reconnect it through the mywifiext program but to no aval. I'm lost at what to do, anything will help.  Thank you.

Try factory resetting the extender 1 more time and re-running setup using the installation wizard.

it wouldn't be the first time a router firmware upgrade caused an issue with wps setup.
