Re: WN3000rpV.3
Try running the install assistant and not wps. Not all device makers code wps the same.

Re: WN3000rpV.3
Dont have an install assistant link? If you have one, please send it on.
I already have a netgear extender working but when i try to add a new extender, I keep getting asked to register as a new user. I already have the product listed on netgear site under my account. Not sure why I need to re register when I already have. Very frustrating trying to solve this.

Is the old one showing up under the access control or the new one?

i have changed SSID but extender is not connected to router. When I log in to fritzbox router, I can see connected and not connected devices. The new named extender is in the not connected section. Making progress and thank for help.

Re: WN3000rpV.3
did you hardwire into the extend you want to setup (with the working one powered off) and run setup through the installation assistant? And then during setup, just use the different ssid you wanted?

Re: WN3000rpV.3
Now on my 4th day trying to get this extender to work via hardwire, reset, wps, changing SSID.
At different times after a reset or hardwire, the extender shows up as connected on the router but won't connect to wifi
At other times, wifi is connected but doesn't show up on router as being connected.
I appreciate any advice that I may have missed....Don't ever remember it being this hard to connect the other Netgear extender I have also set up.

Re: WN3000rpV.3
Its not a new purchase - its about 5 years old as is the other extender I have in the house which is working fine.
Any advice as to how to fix? Surely not the 1st person in the world ot have this issue?

Re: WN3000rpV.3
No one said you're the first person to have this issue.
but if you've done the following:
Tried setup hardwired in
tried after a factory reset
tried after re-installing firmware (in case its corrupted, a reset only removes settings)
Tried setup when the other extender was off
then you're running low on options.

Re: WN3000rpV.3
I'll try firmware upgrade...after that, I think you're correct, it may be past its sell-by-date
Not sure how I can do it if I can't connect it to wifi as I don't have ethernet connection on my laptop? Any help or suggestions appreciated.

Re: WN3000rpV.3
you can manually download the firmware to a pc/laptop.
then hardwire into the device and you can manually install the firmware.
the manual walks you through it.
to get the firmware and manual go to
netgear.com/support/ and type in your model.
