WNRPT2000 Using the same SSID?

I have two questions:

1) Can I configure the wireless extending to use the same SSID?
2) I updated to the latest firmware which claims to support WPA-PSK (AES) but it still shows as TKIP during setup and configuration? Is this a bug?
