“Weak Security” on extender network

Question

Hello,I installed an EX6120 Wi-Fi extender. &nbsp;The extension network says "WPA/WPA2 (TKIP) is not secure. &nbsp; The security on my router is "WPA2 Personal" which is the most secure option I see when I login to my router. &nbsp;&nbsp;Since the EX6120 goes through my router do I need to be concerned? &nbsp;If so what do I do. &nbsp;Thank you.&nbsp;Bill&nbsp;

Is it an apple device telling you this?&nbsp;
Since iOS 14, apple has been warning all users that aren't using wpa3 of this.&nbsp;
Do you need to upgrade? Not really.&nbsp;
Just make sure you're using a strong password and using proper precautions.&nbsp;
&nbsp;
If the warning bothers you, you can disable it on your apple device.&nbsp;
Or you can upgrade if your so inclined. But upgrading to a wpa3 device might break some of your older devices that might not function on wpa3. Its supposed to be backwards compatible but we're seeing a lot of older devices with issues.&nbsp;
