Which Range Extender for Nighthawk R8000?
Hello,
I have 1GB fibre coming into my house to a Vodafone modem which I have switched off the Wi-Fi and have it linked to the Nighthawk R 8000. I have it mounted about 3.5 feet off the floor on a wall. The house is 2,000 sq.ft timber frame.
At the back of the house I have a room with poor coverage but I have a Cat 5 cable going to that room.
What Range Extender would work best with the R 8000?
I appreciate any advice?

Re: Which Range Extender for Nighthawk R8000?
@FURRYe38 is correct that the EX8000 is the best you can get for AC extenders.
Do you need the best or just additional coverage. I'm a fan of the triband extenders because of their dedicated backhaul.
That includes the EX8000, EX7700, EX7300, and the RBS40V has an extender mode that works well to.
If you're not needing the fastest, I'd check out any of those 4 as they're all pretty solid. The biggest difference between then is the dedicated backhaul. the ex8000's is a 1733mbps (4x4 channel wide) while the others are 866mbps.(2x2 antenna wide) Which the R8000 only has a 1300mbps channel (3x3 channel) width for each 5ghz band so you won't even max out its backhaul.
So a few more options to look at.
