Which WiFi Extender is the right one?
I don't know if I really have the device above, this is what it says on the box:
NETGEAR Mini N300 Mbps Wi-Fi Range Extender with External Antennas
It's a 2G one, and I am wondering whether I need a 5G?
I need to extend my wifi range to a garden room approx. 22m (72ft) away from the router in the house. The one I have gets about as far 21m (69ft). I understand there are extenders that have a 30m reach, but I don't know which those are.
Before purchasing another wrong one, I wanted to ask Netgear Support, but all I can get is prewritten pages that don't answer my question, no email address. Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask. I don't know what to do.
It's also possible the answer to this question is in here somewhere already, but I don't understand the technical jargon and don't know what to look for.
Thanks!
Melanie

Re: Which WiFi Extender is the right one?
What are the specs on your router? And what wifi band is your devices currently connected to?
If you have a router that supports both 2.4 ghz and 5 ghz, then you can get an extender that supports both. But if your router only supports 2.4 ghz, then you wouldn't necessarily need an extender that supports 5 ghz unless you plan on upgrading your router later.
