Why are some of the Netgear wifi range extenders called "Essentials Edition", are they somehow inferior or lack features that the other extenders have?

Re: Why are some Netgear products called "Essentials Editions"?
Some like the EX2700 are 2.4 GHz only (while the EX3700 is dual band), others like the EX6400 does offer a total link rate of AC1900 only (compared to the EX7300 which is AC2200 and supporting Mesh [same SSIDs]).
