Can't connect

This is the worst and most frustrating experiance for me. The Extender finds and connects to all the devices with the right wifi names and all. The Nighthawk app says its 'online' however on checking with the apps 'speed test' it says something is wrong. Multiple resets and restarts only one is certain. This dumb unit connects to everything but not the internet !!!. And as its connected to the devices ...all the devices connected to it will lose internet. The help line simply pass me to one person then to another after very long wait time in between like 1/2 hour. If they do answer and given the case number keep asking the same questions over and over before passing it to someone else...completely hopeless.
Is there anyone out there who can help me.
If the extender is hard wired to my PC so i can update the firmware. It will say the extender is not connected to the internet !!! Going in circles and going mad. Spent too much monet to suffer this. HELP..

Alphonz If you'll start your own thread, I'll be happy to help. this keeps your info seperate from the OP's info to reduce confusion.
Laexpo some more info is needed for your issue.
what router are you connecting to?
firmware on the extender?
Did you set it up using wps or using the installation assistant?
- AlphonzOct 20, 2020InitiateHi the Router is Az-tech which is provided by the service provider. The extender firmware is the latest on the Netgear support web .36. The setup was via the Nighthawk app and mywifiext with the pc tethered to the extender. Switched between both multiple times. Also checked the router is not bridged’ mode.

Some routers are locked down or designed for mesh and need certain seetings changed/disabled to function with extenders. Its why we ask for the router when troubleshooting. AZ-Tech is like telling a mechanic when he asks for car model that its a Ford. They make many different models and each is different.
