Wifi Extender keeps losing connection and then reconnectiong

Okay, I bought the Nighthawk ac1900 Wifi Range extender today. I set it up and it was working fine. Out of nowhere, the extender would drop the connection, but the lights would remain on, and I would be disconnected for about a minute then reconnected to the wifi. This is the same issue I was having with my other extender which forced me to buy this new router. I called customer support and he told me to lower the security settings. I did that and it is still happening. WHAT CAN I DO TO FIX THIS?
