ex6100 v2 WAp or extender
going to be working from home and moving from basement into living room without any hard cable network. Found my old ex6100.
I want to use wireless (ex6100) to talk to my modem, and have the ethernet cable go from the ex6100 into my computer.
Do I set the ex6100 as a wap or extender?
how do I log into the ex6100 to set up password for network (instructions on site just for extender). Do i plug a cable into ex and my comp then log into the mywifiext net?

You set it up in extender mode. When its setup in extender mode, you can hardwire devices to it.

ok do I run the mywifi net from another computer or plug my one I want to use into the ex6100 (obviously with it plugged into wall outlet for power). then run that link (wont have ethernet/wifi access till its set up). sort of how I set the router up by going to a specific ip address

You can do setup with either device. Just once you have it setup and connected to the router, it should work hardwired in.
I've done it both wireless and wired and it works fine.
