ex7000 doesn't work
at the last step, you have to connect to wifi before checking the last box. Problem, the extended signal is now strong, but connection is always limited. So it's uselessly strong. You can't connect to internet. The mywifiext.net page is terrible. If you go through the setup, you can't ever use it again to make any changes. the only way to make any changes is to reset the whole beeping extender. Those windows addresses it says to use like mywifiext (with no suffix) and mywifiext.local also useless and never work. So far this has been money down the toilet. USELESS RIPOFF. Even this post page doesn't work. there is a box to enter a model number, but you can't enter anything in there. Sheesh.

I'm not a fan of the model number entry, but if you had entered EX7 in that field you would have seen three models, the first one being the EX7000. I added the model for you.
I think it's best for Netgear to review (and hopefully respond) to the rest of the feedback in your post.

Hello ngsksnet,
Thank you for your feedback as it helps us improve our products and quality of service. Have you referred to the following article to connect to mywifiext.net?

Re: ex7000 doesn't work
Same issues plus others for the limited time it almost worked, have tried the following with no success.
New/separate SSID for extender.
Multiple factory resets.
Assigned all device MAC addresses (and virtual MAC addresses as for some reason the extender wants to mess with the original MAC) a static IP when the router was spitting out IP address conflicts.
Firmware upgrade + firmware downgrade.
Spent at least 5-6 hours faffing about with the thing and still connection "Limited" if device connects at all to the extender SSID (mobile device fails to get an IP address).
Honestly, such a peice of crap.

Re: ex7000 doesn't work
What Firmware version is loaded on the EX?
What is the Mfr and model# of the main host router the NG extender is connected too?
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and extender(s)? 30 feet is recommended in between them to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.
What channels are you using on the main host router?

Re: ex7000 doesn't work
I'm not near the NG but latest available firmware currently. Using a Cisco Meraki Z1 2.4Ghz + 5Ghz channels. Probably around 20-24 feet from Z1 to NGEX7000. Connection shows green (when connected) so distance shouldn't be a problem.
When it does connect I get IP address conflicts so assigned EVERYTHING a fixed IP (MAC and "Virtual MAC"). When I do this, all devices can connect directly to the router no problem yet devices connecting through the EX7000 will fail to get an IP address.
Have tried putting a 1 week DHCP lease on, still get conflicts.
If possible to turn off the virtual MAC setting, pretty sure that would fix the problem.
