ex8000 dropping connection to R9000 x10 router
works fine for a while after reboot then loses connection. Any help before I return.
awesome product when it works.
1. It is recommended that a factory reset is done after a firmware update. Done
2. Does the issue persist on both bands (2.4GHz and 5GHz)? Yes
3. Does the issue persist on all your wireless devices? Yes
4. Have you tried changing the wireless channel of the main wireless network? Yes
5. When it drops, does the extender still broadcast the wireless network? Yes, clients connect to extender but no Internet, some clients that always stay on don't ave the issue but if they get restarted, they connect but don't have access to Internet.

Re: ex8000 dropping connection to R9000 x10 router
What firmware is running on the EX8000?
If you are using .186, you could try downgrading to .180 and see if that solves it. https://kb.netgear.com/000060192/EX8000-Firmware-Version-1-0-1-180

I had the same issue with my xr500 and ex8000. Downgraded firmware and it worked. Make sure to unzip the file when attempting to downgrade it though

Re: ex8000 dropping connection to R9000 x10 router
Thank you I will have to try that if it happens again. I am currently on 186. steps I took to fix.
x10 router side.
step 1 checked and made sure wifi channels where set to the highest and static not auto.
step 2 reserved a ip address for the ex8000
step 3 went to scheduling for internet access and made it 24/7
ex8000 side
step 1 made sure it was set to the reserved ip address
when to do more and schedule and made internet access 24/7

Re: ex8000 dropping connection to R9000 x10 router
update
has been working for 2 days and a better connection speed.
I ended up haveing to down grade both x10 nighthawk router and the ex8000 extender.
After downgrading both i moved the extender another 10 to 15 feet further away from the router, i was already roughly 30 35 feet away. connection speed went from 288 to 1760.
