home network with router and DGN2200v3 extender WN2000RPTv2
Hello, my home network consists of a router and an extender DGN2200v3 WN2000RPTv2 with which I connect to wifi all in a dwelling of 3 floors devices.
The only router, also placed in the middle floor could not deploy an optimum wireless signal on all floors, so I paired the extender wifi and the best configuration, after some testing, was found with a router to the plane 0 (or 2) and extender on the middle floor.
But even so on the 2nd floor (or floor 0) the signal was still weak, just enough to navigate in some circles, but not in all.To which I thought I would say a cable between the floor 0 and 2 ° in order to position the outer plans routers and extenders (which otherwise would have received and raised a signal too low) and then use the extender in access point configuration (the intermediate floor so 2 devices receive good signals to connect).
However I have not found ability to set the access point of the extender in the configuration menu, you can instead according to the manuals found in the network of WN2000RPTv3.
I contacted netgear support, which, after having also shown the procedure of the latter extender, came to the conclusion that you can not make this setting in the product in my possession.
In reality, however, I found that you can use it as an access point after the reset and before making the configuration wizard.
I connected the network cable from the main router to port 1 the extender. On this are switched on the second "was" spies and "PC extender" while it is turned off that relating to the "connection speed".
In this configuration, the extender has already created the default wireless network named NETGEAR_EXT to which I connect all my devices and navigate. Because I have not set anything on the extender with respect to the main wifi network after the reset carried out, the only way by which it receives the external line is the ethernet cable connected to ports 1 routers and extenders.
If I enter the PC browser the www.mywifiext.net address or the IP address directly the main router has assigned Extender (in fact I can access the main router at 192.168.0.1 settings from the PC connected via the connection wifi NETGEAR_EXT and read the IP addresses of connected devices, both wired and wifi in CEH) automatically opens the configuration wizard page of the extender.
I tried to complete the wizard, and once entered the main wifi network data and those of the network that is generated dall'extender, this connects to the low signal wifi router instead of the main cable, and as a result of my connection pc to the extender wifi network is very little or nothing.
again by resetting the extender, with the network cable connected and without complete configuration wizard, I surf again with the speed of the main router.
The drawback is linked to the absence of network keys implemented on NETGEAR_EXT network which, consequently, is of free access. At this point I tried to put restrictions on MAC addresses directly on the main router, but the blocking of access by MAC addresses acts only on devices connected in wifi, and all devices that connect to the network generated dall'extender NETGEAR_EXT are seen by DGN2200v3 main router as connected devices via wired network (as indeed is the extender through which they connect). In conclusion, the thus does not act block.
Is there some other setting that I can try on DGN2200v3 router to block the unwanted access via the network wifi NETGEAR_EXT generated dall'extender WN2000RPTv2 connected via wired network?Or, rather, some setting on the extender itself, but before bypassing the configuration wizard?

Salve a tutti, la mia rete domestica è costituita da un router DGN2200v3 ed un extender WN2000RPTv2 con cui collego in wifi tutti i dispositivi in un'abitazione di 3 piani.
Il solo router, anche posto nel piano intermedio non riusciva a distribuire un segnale wireless ottimale su tutti i piani, per cui ho accoppiato l'extender wifi e la configurazione migliore, dopo alcune prove, è risultata con router al piano 0 (oppure 2) ed extender al piano intermedio.
Ma anche così al 2° piano (o al piano 0) il segnale era comunque debole, appena sufficiente per navigare in alcuni ambienti, ma non in tutti.
Al che ho pensato di passare un cavo direte tra il piano 0 ed il 2° in modo da posizionare ai piani più esterni router ed extender (che altrimenti avrebbe ricevuto e rilanciato un segnale troppo basso) ed utilizzare quindi l'extender in configurazione access point (i dispositivi del piano intermedio riceverebbero così 2 buoni segnali a cui collegarsi).
Tuttavia non ho trovato possibilità di impostare l'access point nel menù di configurazione dell'extender, cosa invece possibile secondo i manuali trovati in rete del WN2000RPTv3.
Ho contattato il supporto netgear, i quali, dopo avermi indicato anch'essi la procedura di quest'ultimo extender, sono arrivati alla conclusione che non è possibile effettuare tale impostazione nel prodotto in mio possesso.
In realtà però ho verificato che è possibile utilizzarlo come access point dopo aver effettuato il reset e prima di effettuare la configurazione wizard.
Ho collegato il cavo di rete proveniente dal router principale alla porta 1 dell'extender. Su questo risultano accese le 2 spie "stato" e "pc extender" mentre risulta spenta quella relativa alla "velocità di connessione".
In questa configurazione l'extender ha già creato la rete wifi di default nominata NETGEAR_EXT a cui posso connettermi con tutti i miei dispositivi e navigare. Poichè non ho ancora impostato nulla sull'extender riguardo alla rete wifi principale dopo il reset effettuato, l'unico modo da cui esso riceve la linea esterna è il cavo ethernet collegato alle porte 1 di router ed extender.
Se inserisco sul browser del pc l'indirizzo www.mywifiext.net o direttamente l'indirizzo IP che il router principale ha assegnato all'extender (posso infatti accedere alle impostazioni del router principale all'indirizzo 192.168.0.1 dal pc connesso tramite la connessione wifi NETGEAR_EXT e leggere gli indirizzi IP dei dispositivi connessi, sia cablati ceh in wifi) mi si apre automaticamente la pagina del wizard di configurazione dell'extender.
Ho provato a completare il wizard, e, una volta inseriti i dati della rete wifi principale e quelli della rete che viene generata dall'extender, questo si connette al bassissimo segnale wifi del router principale anzichè via cavo, e di conseguenza la connessione del mio pc alla rete wifi dell'extender risulta scarsissima o nulla.
Resettando nuovamente l'extender, col cavo di rete collegato e senza wizard di configurazione completato, navigo nuovamente con la velocità del router principale.
L'inconveniente è legato alla assenza di chiavi di rete implementate sulla rete NETGEAR_EXT che, di conseguenza, risulta di libero accesso.
A questo punto ho provato a inserire le restrizioni sugli indirizzi MAC direttamente sul router principale, ma il blocco degli accessi mediante indirizzi MAC agisce solo sui dispostivi connessi in wifi, mentre tutti i dispositivi che si connettono alla rete NETGEAR_EXT generata dall'extender sono visti dal router principale DGN2200v3 come dispositivi connessi mediante rete cablata (come difatti è l'extender tramite cui si connettono). In conclusione, il blocco così non agisce.
C'è qualche altra impostazione che posso provare sul router DGN2200v3 per bloccare gli accessi indesiderati tramite la rete wifi NETGEAR_EXT generata dall'extender WN2000RPTv2 collegato tramite rete cablata?
Oppure, meglio, qualche impostazione sull'extender stesso, ma bypassando prima il wizard di configurazione?
