loss of band
my ex7500 extender disconnects from my system repeatedly. Also, I can only find 1 5G band. All LEDs are blue all the time. Turning off and on reconnects it but doesn't bring back the second 5G. What do you suggest that I do. I have tried to cntact support but find it to be a difficult and convoluted experience if not impossible to achieve and noone answers the chat line even when I can find it.
Any help please

Re: loss of band
With the tri-band extenders, one of the 5ghz bands is stricktly reserved for router----extender communication. its what allows them to be so fast because they have a dedicated backhaul. The only way to use the other 5ghz band is to hardwire in the extender and run it in AP (access point) mode.
so in extender mode, you won't see it/be able to use it.
What router is it connecting to?
What firmware is on the extender?
What size is your home?
What materials is your interior walls? certain materials block wifi extremely well.
Have you tried moving it closer/further away? or laterally? Sometimes things in the walls (like hvac) can be blocking signals and a lateral move can help more than closer/further away.
Have you tried changing wireless channels on the primary router for the 5ghz it connects to?

Re: loss of band
I've tried and tried to get this equipment to work. When it does it's really good. As I said in my earlier post it keeps diconnecting. After many attempts to get it to work I'm forced to conclude that it is not reliable. It's junk. So I'm going to throw it away and replace it with more reliable, no Netgear, equipment. Extremely disappointed.

Re: loss of band
I have lost access to the 5G band on my router. Some devices will connect to the internet and some will not. This has happened after 2 months of good service with no problems.
