negear wifi extender 1900 ex6400 says it's open, how do I get it password protected?

I just bought the ac1900 wifi extender and the instructions talk about putting in a password but I wasn't asked that and my laptop shows it as open, no password needed which concerns me.

    Hello ninjatora1313

     

    Go to www.mywifiext.net and then login with admin/password click on wireless settings then you should be able to add a password to your network.
