new firmware for EX8000 Firmware Version 1.0.1.224

Hi Netgear Support,

Is this new firmware for ex8000 v1.0.1.224 any good ??    I am still using an old version ( V1.0.1.164) which has been very stable . Not sure if I should update it.  Let me know if anyone has seen any good results .

I ran it for a bit to try it out and didn't have issues.

But if you're on a version that works, why fix what isn't broken?

so which version are you running ??  why are there no details on whats fixed in this new version ? maybe its better?

the .224 version. And it does have release notes. They say:

The 5g wifi speeds for connected devices is much lower on this new fw then on on the older firmware - ( V1.0.1.164) . Is that normal?

Why is that??

It shouldn't change the speed. If it isn, try changing wifi channels or factory resetting the extender and reinstalling. If it still impacts it, you can downgrade back to the older firmware.
