not having a WiFi connection

I am trying to keep a connection with a ring security camera with my Nighthawk X4 AC2200 mesh extender down at my barn.  I was told that the distance from my wifi router would stay connected and work.  When I try to connect my security camera to the wifi down there it won't connect.

Who told you it'd reach? 
Is the extender in the barn? in the home? 

where is it in relation to the router and the camera? 

And whats the distance between each as well as what materials are between them? (certain materials block wifi better than others)
