open ssh port on ex6200
Not really a tech support question but more of a discussion.
I currently have a netgear ex6200 in the default configuration to extend my wifi. I was searching for options to change the administrator username and password when I noticed that the ssh port is accepting requests.
myUserName@myComputer ~ $ ssh -l admin 10.0.0.2 The authenticity of host '10.0.0.2 (10.0.0.2)' can't be established. ECDSA key fingerprint is ################################## Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)? yes Warning: Permanently added '10.0.0.2' (ECDSA) to the list of known hosts. myUserName@10.0.0.2's password:
1. I don't know the username/password combination to get in and it doesn't seem to show up anywhere online. This is a good thing!
2. Shouldn't the router drop or reject ssh connections by default as a security measure?
I'd be curious to hear what other people have found.
