routerlogin.net not trusted on Apple: EX6410 — AC1900 WiFi Mesh Extender:

Dear community,

Please help me set up this wifi extender for Apple devices (iPhone, iPad).

I have been trying for two weeks with zero success.

Good news:

The wifi extender is successfully installed.

It does get connected to the iPhone/iPad.

Bad news:

Despite the wifi is connected, there is no internet connection on any Apply device (MacBookPro, iPhone, iPad).

iPhone/iPad do not trust the certificate routerlogin.net.

Android devices work perfectly.

More details:

Firmware: V1.0.0.146

OS: 15.2

Main router: Virgin Hub 3

Model: EX6400|AC1900 WiFi Mesh Extender Essentials Edition

Re: routerlogin.net not trusted on Apple: EX6410 — AC1900 WiFi Mesh Extender:

routerlogin . net would be to connect to the router, not the extender.

the extenders would be mywifiext . net or its ip address from the router.

Did youo setup the extender using wps or using the installation assistant?

Current setup: CM2000-> RBKE963B-> Trendnet TEG-S380-> GS716T-> pi-hole
also in AP setup: RAXE500->EAX80
1.4gig download/50mbps upload from Xfinity

If you search the vigin forums, you're not the first to have issues connecting an extender to their hub 3.

Re: routerlogin.net not trusted on Apple: EX6410 — AC1900 WiFi Mesh Extender:

routerlogin.net is an internal website to configure your Netgear device and is unencrypted (http) which means the username and password you enter can be recovered when using packet sniffing.That is why you get that warning when you try to reach it in your webbrowser. Try what is said in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fPSPBOSCHps
I
t will be similar for NETGEAR.
Try to disable use private address: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT211227 . That sometimes can give issues.
