I have just recently purchased and connected the ex2700 extender.  Do I connect all  my devices to this new wifi_ext?

Extenders work great for dead spot area's or to extend the reach that didn't have signal. 

If you're connecting to your router fine, then I'd stay connected to that. 

Reason why is that extenders have to receive and then retransmit. And they can't do both at once. So they're speed is automatically 50% slower. 

so if you've got decent signal from your router, you'll get better speed.
