Have you tried connecting to the 5 GHz network on the 5th gen iPod, does that work?
What exactly happens when you try to connect to the 2.4 GHz network on that iPod, does it just say "Could not connect to..." or something else?

Did you do all those steps that they discussed? You have the latest 8.4 IOS? Same model & version of router too? Same result when trying to connect on both frequencies (2.4Ghz/5Ghz)?
