Password creation

How do I rename and give a password to my network ( wifi signal booster adapter ) it is now Netgear.ext with no password and people are using it . I get kicked off my own wifi now and it's impossible to stream anything without interruption. I was great for 3 wks . I have no idea how to give it a password

What wifi extender are you using and is your router password protect as well but do need the model number of the extender to be able help.

While connected to the Extender SSID (Netgear.ext as your description) open a browser and access http://mywifiext.net/ - this should give you access to the Netgear WiFi Range Extender.

In Settings -> Wireless you should find the Network Name (SSID) and rhe ability to set the WiFi password to the exsitng network password (or the main router), or configure a different password.
