I have a used WNR1000v2 I want to give to a friend, but I have lost the resource CD that came with it. Yes, I know they can just go here & get Genie, but I would like to burn them a copy of the original installation CD, if at all possible. Anyone know if/where I might DL the files to burn a working copy of this original CD?
TIA
Dan

We have answers to this question. (See above.) Perhaps they aren't the answers you want. Sorry about that.
Let's put these answers another way:
Netgear does not provide downloads of installations CDs.
Would a simple No have been better?
If you read the manual for this device, you will see that:
Your product package should contain the following items:
It then says:
The Resource CD, which includes:
- The Smart Wizard Installation Assistant (Autorun.exe)
- A PDF version of this manual
- A link to the online User Manual
We have explained how you can get these essentials. Feel free to burn your own CD.
If you really want this CD, Netgear offers paid for support contracts that might deliver what you want. A new router might be cheaper.
By the way, the "sigh" was because the latest message just repeated my own reply. Then again, perhaps two answers saying the same thing tell you something.
If you don't want people to answer your question, why are you here?
Let's leave it to others to decide whose time is being wasted.

Re: WNR1000v2 resource cd files to burn?
They can get everything needed on the support pages for the device:
WNR1000v2 | Product | Support | NETGEAR
Any CD, if there was one, will be hopelessly out of date.

You could download the newest software for the router and burn to a cd it would get them started but still they would have to check and update if a newer software comes out after you burn the cd.

Re: WNR1000v2 resource cd files to burn?
Sigh. Yes, indeed. As I explained in my post, I KNOW the CD isn't required, but I have a REASON for wishing to reproduce it. If you don't have an answer to my question aside from "sigh", DON'T BOTHER REPLYING.
I think I'm done wasting my time here.
