Spam in my inbox

I have a community member sending me porn spam, it's in my inbox. If any admin care private message me and I'll send user name etc.
Cheers.

   Lucky you.

There should be a "Report" link on the message page (lower left?) for
such a complaint.  Whether anyone cares enough to do anything about it
is another question.  I'd expect the "Ignore" button to reduce repeat
offenses by a particular "user".

Re: Spam in my inbox

Too easy mate.
I'll report it and deactivate my account. I only joined up for some troubleshooting stuff. Seen the email saying I had a private message waiting for me here. No need to stay subscribed, not if I'm going to get extra spam in my inbox 🙂

Re: Spam in my inbox

No report icon, maybe because I'm on my phone. Options only has a delete, but I have an ignored folder. Too much time spent anyway. Will deactivate my account. Thanks for your help mate, good day to you.

Who said anything about an icon?  What I see (Firefox on Mac) is the
word "Report", to the left of the "Delete" and "REPLY" buttons, near the
bottom of the message page.  It's about as well designed as the rest of
the forum pages.

   I'd expect that to work.

Re: Spam in my inbox

I am seeing the same thing in my community message box & inbox.

There is no "report" button others describe on the webpage.

Re: Spam in my inbox

Confirmed, @Old__Goat , being on windows10 and firefox66.02 I do not see that "report" button described by @antinode, either.

Interesting, that user experience with firefox is different comparing windows and mac. phone I could understand, but windows and mac. that's strange. If it would be cosmetics, ok, but not something you could use to do something important like reporting an improper post.

If "reporting an improper post" had any effect, then it might matter
more.

Interesting, that is not what my view looks like. I get the message without the block of buttons at the bottom:

Using which browser on which OS?

For example, I did "Report Inappropriate Content" for the following
more than a day ago:

      https://community.netgear.com/t5/x/x/m-p/1734932
      https://community.netgear.com/t5/x/x/m-p/1734929#M126641
      https://community.netgear.com/t5/x/x/m-p/1734928#M30479

It's easy to see how much effect that had.  I infer that any such
"Report" link is a black hole.

I see the same thing in both Mirosoft Edge and Firefox on Windows 10.

Hmmm.  I see what I see on those and Internet Explorer, too.  Sounds
to me like a "COMMUNITY" quirk of some sort, unless all your browsers
are crippled in some way.  I'm starting at:

      https://community.netgear.com/t5/notes/privatenotespage

and following the Subject link for a message to (for example):

      https://community.netgear.com/t5/notes/privatenotespage/tab/inbox/notes-view-mode/single/note-id/766...

If I use Firefox to look at the page source (Tools > Web Developer >
Page Source), I can find this (on one line):

<a class="lia-link-navigation lia-component-report-note" id="link_1_3"
href="/t5/notifications/notifymoderatorpage/note-id/76654">Report</a>

Code for "Delete" and "REPLY" is not far away. Also for the

links group, below those controls.

Re: Spam in my inbox

The "Report" does show up on any browser (in mobile and desktop view) - once a PM is open. From the PM Inbox listing (this is what the people complaining it does not exist are using) there is no other control than using the header to open the post.

Further on, for those not want any email notifications on PM, replies, participation, ... in the Username -> My Settings ... Profile Settings the first control is on "Don't send me any community emails" - tick it and [Save].

Re: Spam in my inbox

What was confusing to me, and probably others, you could read the message (or they put it all into a subject line), so it didn't appear to need to be opened (and I didn't really want to open it) and there was no report button. AFTER I OPENED the message, I could see the report button on the lower left and reported it.

Re: Spam in my inbox

Different from a local Email program or a "generic" Web based Email access, the possible harmful content (technically speaking) here in the SaaS environment is very limited. So opening PMs is reasonable secure.
