Hi, I have been using th unit with two 2GB disks for a long time, and ran into a problem when adding two more drives now (WD 4TB RED). First the system did a resync over 30 hours with one of the drives (the other being grey), apparently succesfully. At the end however, the system froze, displaying error message "page_address+8" on the LED display, while the unit became unaccessible (admin interface and shares as well). After a few hours of inactivity, I restarted, the system started resync again, this time shares remaining unaccessible, the admin interface showing as below: The resyinc is still going on, with the following warnings coming up continually: Can someone advise what is going on? I saw some similar threads, but not sure what is happening or what am I supposed to do with it. Thanks, A.3.8KViews0likes21CommentsReadyNas 104 Continually resynching since adding drive
ReadyNas 104 has OS V6.8.0 and 2 x WD RED 4TB and 1 x WD RED 6TB (all in compatability list) Added a further WD RED 6TB with power on. Initially got Page_address+8 error on LED. Power-cycled as no disk activity and now I just get: Remove inactive volumes to use the disk. Disk #1,2,3,4 Volume: Resyncing started for Volume data Volume: Volume data is resynced LED display just shows NAS name and ip address When I look at volumes it shows: X-RAID In the RN104 picture all disks shown as spare (green) On the left it shows two volume pictures, the top has Data 0 and Free space 0 and RAID type 5 and shows resynch in progress 15.88% complete time remaining 57:55:04 The bottom shows Data 0, free space 0 RAID unknown Shares are not available Admin page periodically goes unavailable Is this expected on inserting a new disk. Do I just leave it as it seems to be saying it will take 57 days to resolve.Solved9.1KViews0likes23CommentsReadyNas 104 Discoverable but won't link with ReadyCloud
Hi, I apologise if this question is a repeat, tried looking but not found anything... I have a ReadyNAS 104, with 6.6.1 OS on a Virgin V3 Router. I seem to have been affected with the auto account deletion mentioned in other forums but; I can discover my NAS in the ReadyCloud, as I have enabled it in Cloud Settings (I don't have admin access issues like others have mentioned), but it doesn't stay linked like it did before the issue on 30/03/2017. Therefore cannot use it via mobile app etc. Error mesage on Readycloud is; "Currently you have no registered or Shared Devices." I have tried many things and am out of ideas. If the router wasn't configured properly, I am guessing ReadyCloud wouldn't even dicsover it? Any help is greatly appreciated.Solved3.4KViews0likes4CommentsUnable to change MTU, Readynas 104 OS6.4.1
I was attempting to adjust my MTU down from 1500 to 1472 or 1483 in order to troubleshoot network performance issues, and the UI rejected the changes with Error 4004019998. Does anyone know what this error means and how I can resolve it to change my MTU?4.6KViews0likes16CommentsReadyNAS 104 system hanging frequently after 6.4.0 upgrade
Hi All, I have a pretty new ReadyNAS 104 system (August, 2015). Currently populated with 3 x 4TB WD RED drives, and a single Segate 3TB drive (to be upgraded once funds allow). Since upgrading to FW 6.4.0 I have found that the system will hang whenever a maintenance process is performed - Scub, Balance or Defrag, which I had scheduled previously. I have now disabled all the schedules and left the system alone, but overnight it has hung again, after approximately 72 hours of normal operation. It responds to pings, but the GUI will not load, it has dropped off the network via all protocols, fails to allow you to SSH into it and pressing the power button (Once, twice and three times) has absolutely no effect. The only option is to pull the plug. Also, after every hang, forcing a power pull, the system starts a complete resync of the volume, which always starts at 25.10% and takes about 4 days to complete over the 15TB of raw storage. Obviously this is putting undue strain on the disks everytime it is happening. Happy to provide logs to any friendly Netgear Admins, and any advice from any of you lovely people would be gratefully received. Cheers, Tipster10KViews2likes26CommentsWhere to find maintenance utilities after update to 6.4.0?
Hello all, I updated my ReadyNAS104 to 6.4.0 today. Before I had 6.2.4 installed. Since the update to 6.4.0 I'm missing the maintenance utilities like - rebalance - disk test - data scrub ... I had schedules defined for them but now that menue seems to be is not available anymore with 6.4.0. As there is not manual for 6.4 I searched here, but did not find details so far. Can someone help me with this? Thanks and regards...HolgerSolved3.8KViews0likes9CommentsPerformance/Admin Page Access - Does available disk space affect access to the ReadyNas
Hey All, System Details: ReadyNas 104 - Current OS: 6.2.5 4x3TB Seagate (8.17 TB Available - currently 550 GB free) Network a mix of Win 7 Pro/Ult SP1 and Win 10 Pro devices Networked through Linksys router and switches throughout. The ReadyNAS 104 has recently been having issues where the device becomes unresponsive (Slow accessing the Admin Page, Music playing, through network share using Window Media Player, seems to be "skipping" on local network.). The system seems to be fine after a reboot (and even then, had to unplug to get to reboot) but it eventually over time starts to show the above characteristics. At first I thought it might have been the OS so reverted back to 6.2.4 but the issues seems to return. Went back to 6.2.5 and again, same issues. So my question is does the available disk space affect the network performance? I haven't ran a scrub or defrag yet but am a bit concerned about data loss. I know the party line will be "backup before doing anything..." ...typical CYA move but finding 7+ TB of backup space...not going to happen. Is there a "safe" percentage of disk space that should be available for scrub/defrag? In addition, can I send log files to see if there is something else that could be an issue (i.e. SAMBA - noted some error items in logs =============================================================== [2015/09/09 06:17:56.684266, 0] ../lib/util/fault.c:79(fault_report) INTERNAL ERROR: Signal 11 in pid 30714 (4.2.0) Please read the Trouble-Shooting section of the Samba HOWTO [2015/09/09 06:17:56.825187, 0] ../lib/util/fault.c:81(fault_report) =============================================================== )?
