Would someone mind helping me to get the internet working on my NAS? I don't tend to access it very often when I'm away from home so I'm not sure exactly when the problem began. I want it to work so I get notifcations of any problems. It was working for at least a year. Causes could be: New Router, New Modem. My Telstra Smart modem is set to bridge mode. It's IP is 192.168.0.1 My Ubiquiti Security gateway router's IP is 192.168.1.1 I have an unmanaged switch. The local network and internet is working. I have had the smart modem for a month, purchased it so I was ready for NBN which was connected this week. The internet has never worked on the NAS when using this modem. This may or may not be the cause. The NAS is plugged into one of the spare ports on the unmanaged switch. My Nas Et0 is set to static, Eth1 is dynamic. Adaptor Eth0 had no DNS server in the IPV4 settings, Eth1 had 192.168.0.1 I've tried adding 8.8.8.8 to both adaptors. No cigar.Solved2.4KViews0likes2CommentsDisaster on a readynas 314 - need advice please
Going to simplify this - essentially this is all because of the 6.9.2 update causing NAS to not boot up after update. Not happy. I had 2 x 3TB drives as RAID1 in a 4 bay NAS. I installed a new 3TB drive hoping to mirror on to this, but didnt realise when I clicked add parity it turned the 3 drives into a RAID5. Resync started. I panicked, went and bought a new 4TB drive, put it in the NAS. Was in the admin / volumes page, and was hoping to make the 4TB drive a new partition, but it was late, and I thought I had clicked the 4TB, but I had clicked the 3TB that the RAID5 was syncing on, and clicked make new volume. When I realised what I did, I literally froze in shock (this is all my research / families data, and I was trying to be safe with it). I let the resync finish, which it did, and then I thought to my self I'll shutdown the NAS. Only for it to not boot again (in hind sight I should have just copied the data to the new 4TB then and there). Nothing would boot so I did a whole lot of resetting things (but with the new 4TB drive in only, new OS). I now have a fresh 4TB single drive system and when I add in the 3 other drives they show up as red in the volumes section. So basically I feel like I have a degraded RAID5 set of 3 disks (2 of which I think should be good) that won't boot. I am considering putting back in the 3 original disks (or 2, and reinstalling the OS on them from the boot menu?) WHat are my other options? I have downlaoded the logs using raidr but only when the NAS has booted using the 4TB drive, and then I insert the other 3TB drives (and they show up red). Also are others having really odd intermittent booting issues after the 6.9.2 update. Even on the new fresh install booting (and boot menu booting) are hit and miss.] ReadyNAS need your help!2.4KViews0likes12CommentsReady NAS 314 stops at "booting"
Hi, today I updated the FM to 6.4 which worked fine I think. Then I tried to install the Wiki (App). This made the NAS unaccessable from the browser (files were still more or less accessable). Then I tried to restart it and it stopped during boot, saying "booting" and the PowerLED is blinking. I tried to reinstall the OS but it still stops when booting. Any ideas what else I can try? I will now check the disks and the HDDs. Is it possible to do a factory reset without the disks and without loosing data? I have 4x2TB disks, how would I backup them? Thanks a lot for any suggestions! PhilippSolved3.2KViews0likes2CommentsReadyNAS 314 stuck on 'Booting...'
Hello, After powering on my device, it will go past the welcome screen then freeze on the 'Booting...', fans are working and device otherwise seems to be working. Any suggestions on what could be causing this? I've tried accessing the boot menu but have only got as far as the boot menu screen and haven't been able to access individual menus.3.6KViews0likes5Comments
