1 TopicNIGHTHAWK R7000 + Actiontec WCB6000q
R700 Version: 1.0.7.10_1.2.3 I called cox communications today to see if I qualified for a special to go from premium speed 100/10 to utlimate speed 300/15. They are telling me that I would have to have a Actiontec WCB6200q put into the network in order for their increased speed to work on my network correctly along with renting the device for $9.95 a month. I think they are trying to get me to rent something I don't need (I could always buy my own if need be). I do not have any issues with my network, we will having company for a few months and this person will most likely increase the the usage quite a bit. So what I am asking is Cox Communications trying to pull a fast one on me? My SkyStream-One Android TV box (which is GREAT) I have directly connected to my R7000. I use the ethernet cabels that was run throughout my home when it was built. I have another that runs to my home office to my main desktop. Other laptops, Ipad, etc. use wifi/bluetooth. I also a have a Netgear wireless extender upstairs that works well for Ipads, laptops, etc. I am confused why I would have to have this Actiontec WCB6200Q extender to utilize 300/15 bandwidth. Can anyone enlighten me?(2.9KViews0likes3Comments
