Hello - I have seen many posts about Orbis dropping their connection, so apologies if in my newbie enthusiasm I am duplicating a known problem. I have the RBK50 pair of Router and Satellite. I am running firmware V2.0.0.72. The RBR50 is in AP mode since it is connected to a Swisscom router/modem (I live in Switzerland). I regularly get interruptions on the network, and there seem to be more since the latest firmware upgrade. This morning I had more time to investigate, and found the following in the log [Internet connected] IP address: 192.168.1.107, Monday, September 18, 2017 09:48:25 [Internet disconnected] Monday, September 18, 2017 09:48:06 [DFS radar]Changing to DFS channel 120, Monday, September 18, 2017 09:41:53 [DFS radar]Radar found on channel 108, Monday, September 18, 2017 09:41:50 it seems to match the 10 minutes or so when nothing was working in the house I am guessing that this is the backhaul link between the satellite and router since the 5Ghz channel in use for normal connections is channel 36 Anybody else seen this? Is there a way to configure the backhaul link to not use DFS channels? TerryR7800 and DFS Channels usage
Just installed a Netgear R7800. Seems like the most recent FW supports DFS channels. Can someone tell me the pros/cons of using these channels, say over 48, 149, or 161? I live downtown Chicago, so there is a lot of 5ghz traffic in my neighborhood. Also, any downfall to using HT160? Not sure if any of my Apple products support it or not.Solved10KViews0likes3Comments
