3 TopicsReadyNAS104 no data after hotswap
Hi, I had the Volume: Volume data health changed from Degraded to Dead. I hotswapped the Volume 1 today, with an 8TB drive and now the other 3 drives are showing red, and the new drive is black. (other drives are v2 - 2TB and V3&4 - 4TB) [v1 was 4 TB] It is like all the drives are now showing as new, I cannot see any data. and now the warning is Remove inactive volumes #2,3,4. I really hope this doesn't mean all the data is lost. If anyone can help it would be appreciated. Regards CraigReadyNAS Ultra 4 Volume Failure after replace 2 dead disk
Really need some help here, all my kids pictures since they were born are on it... 2 (disk 1 and 2) out of the 4 disk has been marked as dead for a while, and I have been using the NAS with 2 out of 4 was dead w/o issue. Decided to replace the 2 dead disk, replaced disk 1 and the sync/rebuilt took days. Then replaced disk 2 it was almost immediately done. However when I checked the admin GUI it shows the whole volume dead with 0Mb usage, and the 2 new disks were marked as spare. However the front panel still shows 3T out of 7T is used. From windows explorer I can navigate onto the NAS and see some directories etc (although very slow), however when I try to copy a file it says network error. I have screen shots capture here: and the log from the admin GUI here: also downloaded all the log from the admin GUI here in a zip file: I'm scared to even reboot the NAS now. I want to try to remove the 2 new drive that in swapped in, would it somehow return it to a useable state so I can make backup and restart from scratch? But I'm not dare to try it for it might corrupt it more? Kinda crazy it was working fine with 2 good 2 dead disks and replacing the 2 dead disks got me into this state... Please help...Missing volumes/shares after automatic firmware upgrade
Hello, Following an automatic firmware upgrade from v6.4.x to v6.5.x which was prompted at the admin panel the shares and volumes on the NAS appear to be missing. Navigating to ‘Volumes’ brings up an alert stating “Remove inactive volumes to use the disk. Disk #1, 2, 3, 4”. The only volume on the disk appears to be “Data-0” which contains 0-bytes of data and 0-bytes of free space in RAID-10. If I remember correctly the previous setup was also X-RAID. The log files do not appear to show any errors. I have attempted to downgrade the firmware to the previous version but the problem still persists. I am hoping someone can give me some advice on what steps to take to attempt data recovery. I hope that the volume is just unable to be read and all the data is still there. Thanks.2.7KViews0likes3Comments
