Duo V2
1 TopicDuo V2 odd network behavior
I'm trying to diagnose a problem with a pair of Duo V2's. What I am finding is that they work fine dirrectly connected to a Netgear router and a Trendnet "green" switch, but not on a D-Link "green" switch. The problem seems to be that the switch does not see the NAS is even there and/or vice-versa. I can force a connection as follows: Plug NAS into switch, then plug in the NAS power supply. At this point, the NAS ethernet activity LED starts to flash and the switch shows a 100MBPS connection. If I then power up the NAS, it will usually remain connected, but only at 100MBPS. If I then disconnect and re-connect the ethernet cable, the communication is not restored when the physical connection is. Each will connect just fine at 1GBPS on the router or other switch. It's not a cable problem. It would be easy to say it's a D-Link problem, but I think it may be a combination. Does the Duo V2 also have "green" ethernet technology? If so, is it possible to disable that? The appearance is that both devices are in a low power state, and neither triggers the other to power up. Some, but not all, D-Link unmanaged switches have the ability to disable EEE. This one, unfortunately, does not.
