Expanding the EDA500
I had a EDA500 attached to a RNAS314. The 314 is set for Raid5 with 4 x 3TB drives. The Expansion unit has 2 x3TB drives in a separate volume RAID1. I would like to either expand this volume by adding 2x 3TB drives or is it better to create a new volume? Also I noticed that by moving the mouse over the units they are reporting the wrong information (volume capacity, etc.) Is there a fix for this? Thanks

Hi, I had 3 4TB WD Red's installed in my 6-Bay NAS using X-RAID and the time has come for me to expand. I am adding 3 more of the same drives. I added my first drive and all is going well (although close to 24 hrs now and on 92%) Just wondering if anyone can help with the following? 1. Can I still read from the drive whilst it is resyncing data (e.g. Use Plex - as the movies are on the NAS)? 2. Can I still write to the drive whilst it is resyncing data? 3. This is a hypothetical - What would happen if the power were to go out mid resync? Would there be any data loss? ThanksSolved2.6KViews0likes3Comments
