Hey guys, I have a question and wasn’t sure who to ask. Basically I just moved and I’m unable to hardwire my Xbox . I’m staying in a basement and the router is on the first floor. After testing, the connection is supposed to be good but I experience lag quite often when gaming. I was considering buying the Nighthawk pro for gaming to help combat this. What I was wondering was -is this a good method to help with lag -I’m only one floor down directly beneath the router/modem, would the distance be a problem since I can’t hardwire Thank you1.5KViews0likes4CommentsUpnp doesn't work on ps5 - Netgear Nighthawk xr500

I bought my router a week ago and found out that once every 24 hours, it will lose connection for like 30 seconds and then come back up. I'm just wondering if there is a way to fix this? Is it something to do with renew lease in the settings and if there is a way to where it doesn't disconnect me?998Views0likes2CommentsXR500 Speed question
What is the max speed (wired) XR500 can handled? My speeds from ISP is supposed to be 1200Mbps-D 45-U. I know the Xr500 says it has 4 - 1 Gigabit ports. When I run speed test I'm getting 944 Down, is that normal for 1 Gig port, or should it max out at 1000D?1.5KViews0likes2CommentsXR500 + EX8000 not reaching gigabit speeds
As stated in the title, I’m not reaching anywhere near my gigabit speeds. I have Xfinity and pay for 1000 down and 20 up. I get 20 up but only around 400-500 down. Is there something that I’m doing wrong? I use the XR 500 as my main router and the EX8000 as an extender. Any help would be nice.913Views0likes2CommentsQuestion about Nighthawk gaming router

So I recently upgraded to spectrum gig internet and was recommended the Xr1000. I don't have knowledge about network stuff I don't know how to ask questions nor if im asking the right questions, so here goes. I got it setup but I was curious as to what y'all have done to make sure your speeds aren't slowed down? Like what would y'all recommend I do in the XR1000 settings to ensure I have the best settings. Also, I have all the cables as CAT6 so am I fine or would I have to change them? Setup: I have the modem and XR1000 router connected in the living room, I have a CAT6 cable connected to the XR1000 going from the living room to my room where I have a gig switch which then has 3 separate CAT6 cables that connect to my PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S. Would there be any potential issues with the gig switch being connected to the router or am I fine there? Any tips, and recommendations are greatly appreciated so thank you for your time in advance!2.7KViews0likes2CommentsQuestion about Nighthawk gaming router

Model: XR500 Firmware: V2.3.2.134 OS: Windows 11 ----------------------------------- Hello, I recently just switched ISPs (Xplornet to Starlink) and I believe I have everything set up mostly correctly. However, one thing that does not load on my DumaOS QoS panel is the Traffic Prioritization settings - where I would normally specify ports on devices that I wanted to skip the queue. The router has been updated and factory reset. I have tested with both ISPs and this problem only occurs on Starlink. HOWEVER, if you notice in the "Traffic Overview" section, it shows that packets are being prioritized - so it's as if the default profile is being applied, but I just can't edit it at all. Here is my setup: I saw that one Redditor suggested, "My guess would be it needs to have a public IP on the WAN interface. If you're behind Starlink's router or on CGNAT, you don't have that, maybe that disables [the traffic priority menu]. Perhaps [Netgear] feels it makes no sense to prioritize packets if you're behind NAT(s) that will interfere with that". So yeah, the feature seems to work, but I can't manage it manually. Any ideas?5.1KViews0likes17Comments
