I have just bought a Netgear Nighthawk M1 through Telstra to enable working in the field. Plugged into the wallmount to charge and the battery seems to drain instead. It will only charge through USB which defeats the purpose of being completely mobile. There is a community discussion on this going back to 2014 but no obvious solution offered. Any suggestions? Will MR6110-111AUS work in indonesia 5G Bands?
Hello, I have question about Netgear Nighthawk M6 MR6110-111AUS. I see if it's have same frequency in indonesia Product Data Sheet MR6110-111AUS 5G Bands 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 28, 40, 41, 78 I'm planning to buy this model because in Indonesia 5G Bands Frequency is N1, N3 & N40. Will it work on indonesia? Is access control outdated in era when MAC address keeps changing?
I used to enable access control in the router settings to specify which MAC address are allowed to access the router. With iOS 18 and iPadOS 18, Apple has introduced three options for the private Wi-Fi address: off, fixed, and rotating. Apple also advises to disable MAC address filtering. These options obviously create great awareness for the role of a MAC address. MAC address filtering no longer works when MAC addresses keep changing, which leads me to think that MAC address filtering is outdated? Any thoughts on this? Preventing other devices from access seemed to be a good idea. When I think about it, a fixed MAC address gives the router control over which devices are allowed, but tracking of devices is probably easier when addresses are fixed. The router's MAC address is also fix. Maybe it is advisable to change that address manually from time to time as well?Nighthawk M5 5G standalone (SA) support
Is the Nighthawk M5 router going to get 5G SA support? I'm from Finland and as a customer of Elisa, I've had access to their SA network for quite a while now. It is my understanding that this should be quite easily achievable with a firmware upgrade. As far as I was able to find, support has not been added. I am fully aware that this is a discontinued product but considering its price, which was by far one of the highest (if not the highest) of its category, and the fact that it was (still kind of is) a top of the range product, I'd expect to recieve at least compatibility updates like this (or why are we paying premium for Netgear's products if they don't get premium support...?). Just as an example, the M6 (non-Pro) currently cost basically 250 € more than any other 5G router, mobile or otherwise, on the market here, and it was the same with the M5. So what are we paying extra for?NBR 750 IPv6 please!!!!
I've been recommending the older LBR20 and the new NBR750 for clients who need a router for an LTE/5G connection in lieu of cable in the area. I've even been using an NBR 750 at home for a tester for about a year. I love the router but HATE how Netgear has hobbled ipv6 support for the wireless (LTE/5G) connection. It's baffling to me that the router supports WAN IPv6 connections if connected to an ethernet WAN link (cable/DSL/etc), but does not support it over the wireless connection, despite the router being capable of receiving an IPv6 address over the wireless connection. Why not allow the router to provide IPv6 addresses even if they are strictly link-local? Or better yet, why not allow the router to provide IPv6 addresses from the prefix delegated to it over the 5G/LTE connection? If you go into the Advanced/Advanced/Ethernet IPv6 in the configuration section for an NBR750 you get an error if you make any changes "FAILURE: No Ethernet Cable is plugged into the Router Internet Port." Can you please fix the firmware to enable IPv6 for users who are using this strictly as a LTE/5G router? Why hobble this? I've had to stop recommending these for clients and frankly have stopped all Netgear recommendations as the seeming arbitrariness of this (especially considering the importance of IPv6 support for things like gaming when having to deal with CGNAT) leads me to question just what Netgear is trying to do. Please fix this!MR1100 external (VPN?) access
I am using my Nighthawk M1 to provide internet access for a mobile data collection cart that will be travelling around the country. I will not always be with the cart, but I may want to check in on the data that is being captured by my edge devices. The only way I know to access the data is to access the edge devices while on the same network. Is there a way to I can VPN into my edge device while it is on the M1 network and I am not? Thanks in advance. SteveCan not send sms with Netgear Nighthawk m6 6500
Does the device for 1000€ lack such a basic function that was in all previous m models? I can't send SMS either from the router, or from the application, or from the web panel. And without this function, the router simply turns into garbage, since my operator obliges me to send SMS every 10GB. Surprisingly, a year ago I asked to add the Auto send SMS function, and now it turns out that this function is either hidden or absent.Nighthawk M6 carrier band aggregation
I have the Nighthawk M6 (X62 modem) on T-Mobile. I consistently get 5G UC indicated. However in the network advanced info I always see LTE bands like LTE B2 listed as the current radio band and not a 5G band. Is this showing all of the bands I’m connected to or just the primary band? Is there a way to see all of the bands we are connected to - where would the secondary band show if the X62 modem is doing carrier band aggregation across multiple bands? I’m under the impression that this device with the X62 inside can aggregate multiple bands across LTE and aggregate 2 or 3 5G bands (have seen some discrepancy whether it’s 2 or 3 on X62) - correct me if I’m wrong. Thanks all.Nighthawk M5 questions
Hey guys, I have a couple of questions regarding the M5 which I hope someone can help answer. To give you an idea of what I’m trying to achieve I owner a camper van that I built out and am working on giving it a smart home network which will work wherever I take it, including when parked outside my house. So I would use a SIM card in the M5 when on the road, and when it’s parked outside my house I’d like the M5 to get its internet wirelessly from my netgear ax8 modem router which is in my house. The idea being that there’s always a network local to the camper van powered by the M5 but its internet source changes. I want to save on data costs when not travelling and the van is parked outside my house. I plan to have a camera and temp sensor in the van, among other things. Ok so questions: Can I connect the M5 to my AX8 to get internet from my home network while using the M5 as a network in my van that I can connect to via the internet. Can I use the M5 solely as a router with no internet which I can connect to from my home (wirelessly via local network)? Thanks in advance for the help!
