I am having broadband by fiber, 250 Mb/s. I use to get about 100-110 Mb/s at 2.4GHz but now I just get about 35 Mb/s. Does anyone have any idea what has happened and/or what can be done about it? I recently updated the router to the latest software with no difference? According to the spec: 2.4GHz = up to 300Mb/s 5 GHz = up to 433Mb/s Thanks in advance Ulf2.1KViews0likes1CommentFast LAN speed/slow WiFi speeds
Hi, I've got the WNDR4300 with the latest firmware. I use an Arris cable modem (I have that set to bridged so it won't double up on the NAT). My Internet speed is 200mbps and I get that on my desktop PC which is wired into the router. On WiFi, though, even when I'm right in front of the router, I can't get any speeds faster than a max of 35mbps which seems really low. I've tested with an iphone 5, a laptop and a Kindle Fire HD and they all get about that speed (using the Ookla speed test). Thanks :)1.2KViews0likes0Comments2.4GHz and 5GHz band LED lights consistently blink causing intermittent wifi connection
Hi all ! Today I was working from my laptop for several hours when all of a sudden I wasn't connected wirelessly to the Internet. Then I was connected...and then disconnected...then connected...then disconnected... This constant connection/disconnection is still happening. I eventually notice that my 2.4GHz and 5GHz LED lights are both blinking differently that what I remember. In the past sometimes they both blink at the same time when they are sending or receiving data. Sometimes they are both ON. But now they are constantly blinking (the 2.4GHz is green and the 5GHz is blue; the power and internet lights are green and solid; the port number from where I'm wired is also green and solid). Thanks for your help !3.4KViews0likes0CommentsNo Internet Access - but still connected?
Hello, I have a WGR614v7 wireless router, and for the most part, it works great. Every now and again though, when I try to access some website, it'll stop working. My laptop will still say that I'm connected to the Internet (54 Mbps, excellent strength, that sort of thing), but it'll also say that there's "No Internet access." All the lights on the router are green, and everything looks just as it did when it was functioning correctly, but I can't access any webpages. Have a nice day1.2KViews0likes0Commentsincessant amber light blinking for ethernet port
So, the modem has five LED lights on front. The power, upstream, downstream, and Internet lights remain steady green during all my time using the new modem so far. The Ethernet light, on the other hand, blinks amber ALL the time, even at night when my computer is off. I've been searching for some info on this and found some past discussions in this community that say this is normal. They have also said the color of the Ethernet light is either amber or green, depending on the speed of hardware connected to it, as I understand the comments. I would think the light, whether amber or green, would sometimes settle down and remain steady instead of constantly blinking. But, apparently, that is not so. So, from a technical standpoint, this is apparently normal. I just find it a annoying. For a modem to be designed to behave this way seems odd. If the light blinked during actual internet activity in my network, that would make sense. The blinking should have some meaning, it should indicate certain activity. The endless blinking is meaningless and not what I want to see in a network device. If I had known about this, I might have bought a different router.902Views0likes0Comments
