I recently purchased the NETGEAR XR300-100NAS Nighthawk Pro Gaming AC1750 Dual-Band Wi-Fi Router and want to just use it for LAN connection to PC for gaming and continue to use my ASUS AC3100 for my home wifi with no lan to pc connection. I am not sure how to go about setting up the Netgear with the Asus or if its even possible. Thanks.1.1KViews0likes2CommentsNighthawk RMX570 - Wifi is working but dashboard says it is disabled

I'm trying to get the best out of the XR500 router without losing my eero wifi network and all working with the Fios Gateway G1100 What I want to do is have the XR500 as the main router and bridge my FIOS router but somehow keep my eero for all wifi devices. Is there a way to have two different networks? or is the recommended setup here to bridge my FIOS and Eero and have the XR500 as the main router? I only need the XR500 to handle wired connections to my office and my media room, eero will be handling all of the wifi within the main floors of the house.... the FIOS router is only there for TV services. I'm not sure exactly what the best approach is here.... any assistance will be greatly appreciated it2.5KViews0likes5CommentsGetting sky to work with XR500
Hi I am UK based using Sky Broadband - using Q - Fibre Max - and have a Netgear XR500 Nighthawk router and a DM200. I have tried unsuccesfully to migrate the new XR500 into my network My steps so far have been to : - Connect my telephone line cable the DM200. - Connected to DM200 and set this to modem mode, and selected Sky as my ISP (no other configuration changed, left everything as default). - Connected LAN port on DM200 to Internet port on the XR500 - Connected to XR500 and uploaded Beta firmware to get option 61 - Set option 61 as : install@o2broadband.co.uk|password I also tried various other strings I found online - Set MAC address of the Netgear XR500 to match that of the existing Sky Q Router. DM200 says internet is "good" but on the XR500 I get 0.0.0.0 on the WAN . I am a network engineer so I'm happy to do whatever CLI / logging / tracing is required. I understand that I may need to wireshark my personal sky username/password however I was under the impression this was not needed since 2017. Please help! as I'd like to use the XR500 :)3.3KViews0likes5Commentsrx500 and alcatel G-240w-b

Hello. I have been using an R8000 router for the past year and recently got my hands on the XR500. I have a 2 storey house with my ISP modem set to bridge mode and the netgear router on the main floor. Since I now have 2 really good routers, I was thinking I should put the XR500 on the main floor and the R8000 on the 2nd floor LAN connected. I guess I would put the R8000 into AP mode since the XR 500 has the good firmware. My question is if this makes sense, or should I just use the XR500 and sell the R8000? I'm wondering how the tri-band on the R8000 would work alongside the dual band on the XR500. Does it just do 2 bands in this case? I would typically try it myself but am away for work so checking to see if anyone has done this.3.4KViews0likes2Comments
