With parental controls enabled, all devices connected to the router report “untrusted or invalid certificate” when attempting to access the internet. Disabling parental controls on the router clears the error and then re-enabling allows devices to access normally . All devices report the error every morning as long as parental controls are enabled. Firmware v4.6.14.4. The certificate error is associated with Circle Labs and appears to have too long of an active period - 20 years. How can we get an updated, trusted and valid certificate?OpenDNS parental control setup on Orbi router
How can I setup OpenDNS parental control on my Orbi? After disabling Circle and enabling OpenDNS from the Orbi web interface, if I click on Parental Controls I am redirected to NETGEAR Live Parental Controls - Sign in to your OpenDNS account How do I get the credentials to sign it? I don't have an account and on the signin webpage there is the message below that point to an app that doesn't exist anymore! So I am stuck! Please help! I understand that Netgear is tryng to push users to use the paid version of Circle parental control and I am trying to understand if I can make OpenDNS working or not. Many thanks! Important Note If you have not yet configured the Live Parental Controls feature on your device please do so with NETGEAR genie, download it now for Windows, Mac, or iPhone/iPad and Android devices.2.5KViews0likes1CommentAnother complain:Ax6000 No Circle!!! 👎🏻👎🏻
Paid $7700 for AX6000. Felt cheated that it does not include Circle parental control after set up. Misleading website. Marketed as a router for future, why would Netgear omit this basic tool included in other competitors’ router? Fix it on air ASAP pls!!!1.3KViews0likes1CommentUsing C7000 as modem for Nighthawk AX6 (RAX50) - AX5400
Hi! I bought the Nighthawk AX6 (RAX50) - AX5400 Wifi Router and only now realised that I cannot use it with the coax cable. Currently, I am running the Nighthawk C7000 and hope now to use the C7000 acting as a router only, and the AX6 receiving the data via a cabled connection. I assume this would mean to configure the C7000 as a DHCP server. This is already where the trouble starts, I can access the C7000's menu via my browser, but since the log-in is admin for both the C7000 and RAX50, it never logs me into the latter even when using the correct password... I always get bounced to the C7000. So, I guess, my question is in short, how can I enable the RAX50 for receiving the data from the C7000? PS: Purpose is that i have too many wireless devices which bogs down the C7000, and if I cable the RAX50 to the router would be in a much better position as well.3.4KViews0likes8CommentsNamed DNS with dynamic IP address - Orbi - SOLVED
Orbi running firmware version 2.3.5.30. When trying to set up the router to use a specific DNS server (OpenDNS, etc), not automatically provided by the ISP, the admin interface has "Use These DNS Servers" grayed out and not selectable unless the IP adress is set to "Use Static IP Address" first. In order to use a dynamic IP address provided by the ISP, you need to disable Circle (Advanced->Security->Parental Controls). Then you can set your specific DNS with automatic IP address. Once that's set up, you can go back and re-enable Cicle. The DNS / IP settings will remain. I don't know why Cicle would force that interaction, but the resolution is easy.1.6KViews2likes1CommentDisney Circle use with Apple TV
Hello all, I subribed to the Disney Circle function offered in my Orbi RBK40/AC2200 wifi system and pay the montly fees. Netgear doesnt seem to offer support by email despite the monthly subscription and suggested to post here for help. I am using an Apple TV at home and want to limit the amount of streaming (netflix, youtube etc) that my kids watch per day. I set it at 2.5 hours. Unfortunately, the Apple TV seems to consume internet time by itself. In the Circle app under Usage under Uncategorized shows a consumption of 2hr10m. In the detail it doesnt show a list totaling to this figure but less. One of the largest at 1hr is an IP address of 17.57.145.70 which seems to belong to Apple. My question is: 1. how to I set up the Circle filters to allow the Apple TV device to show internet streaming for 2.5 hours and ignore all the rest of the background data consumption? 2. Why does Circle/Usage give me totals that dont add up in the detail? And how do I ignore all Apple TV sync data communications with Apple? Thanks in advance4.2KViews0likes7CommentsTime slots for Wired Connected devices
Hello, I'm trying to setup time slots for the wired devices (PC, Play Station...) of my children but I don't find any option for this in the Parent Control. For their wireless devices I installed 'Circle Home Premium' which is working fine. Who can help me?Solved2.8KViews0likes3CommentsCircle setup endless loop
I am attempting to setup Circle on my router. Router is R6400v2 (Nighthawk AC1750) with firmware V1.0.2.60_10.0.44. (The dropdown menu does not provide this option) Circle is enabled on the router under the Parental Controls tab. Agent Version: 2.0.8.9 App Database Version: 1.3.1 I am using the Circle iOS app to complete setup: iOS v 11.4.1 Circle App v 2.0.17 I get as far as the Enable Circle section and it endlessly loops. This appears to be the same issue in this thread. https://community.netgear.com/t5/Orbi/Orbi-Circle-setup-loops-in-app/m-p/1491252 In this thread, the user did nothing and the issue resolved itself on Jan 23, 2018. I have recreated the same steps as above user (doing nothing until Jan 23, 2018) yet my issue still persists. Please advise.Solved3.8KViews0likes3Comments
