I recently changed internet providers and now my extender won't connect. I factory reset it and used the Nighthawk app to set it up. On my phone it says it's connected, but the extender itself doesn't show it's connecting. I also have an ethernet cable connected from the extender to my desktop. My desktop still isn't connecting to the internet, so I know the extender isn't working. I called support and after TWO hours, they were unsuccessful in helping me. I'm calling back again and I've now been on hold for an HOUR! This is ridiculous. Unhappy is an understatement. Please help.1.2KViews0likes3Commentshow to replace a r7000p-100nas with a rs300
The RS 300 showed up and would like to know if there is a video on how to replace/remove the Netgear Nighthawk AC2300. If there is no video, then can I get some help on what is the best way to get this accomplished. I have 2 hardwired desktops, hardwired laptop, iPhones, iPads and an EPSON & HP ENVY Pro 6544 printers. I am thinking that there is software to be removed from the computers. The Arlo Go2 camera needs a phone with the Arlo app connected to 2.4GHz. The RBK53 won’t let me choose the network, and the phone always connects to 5GHz. I’m not sure if there’s a way to temporarily disable 5GHz to force the phone onto 2.4GHz for setup. I tried the setup in the Arlo app, but the camera doesn’t chime when scanning the QR code, so I can’t complete the process. The camera worked before, but after the battery ran out and I charged it with a cable, it disappeared from the Arlo app and I’m trying to bring it back. I already have two other Arlo Go2 cameras working fine. Any help on forcing my phone to connect to 2.4GHz would likely let me finish the setup.Does Orbi 54 RBR50 as access point need to be on a wired LAN?
I have 2 Orbi 54 routers and am trying to set up the second one as an Access Point. I already have 2 satellites but I had to move one to be closer to a 4K tv to get good Internet. I followed the instructions (https://kb.netgear.com/31218/How-do-I-configure-my-Orbi-router-to-act-as-an-access-point) and set it up for a dynamic IP but when I did, the second router did not give me an option to connect to the router. I tried sync buttons but it didn't work. Does it need to be hard wired to connect as an AP? I really need it wirelessly to get it down a long hall. I also can't log in directly to it via Ethernet because it keeps saying the IP is self assigned and it says Router and DNS server, but gives no IP address to connect to in a browser. Maybe this setup is not possible?SolvedOrbi RBR850
I purchased the RBR850 with 2 satellites. I could not get the install to work with my iPhone, so I used a laptop. I installed the router and was installing the satellites when the solid white light on the router went out. So i powered everything down and plugged it back in, blinking white, then no light. So I hit the reset briefly and it did the same thing. Someone suggested to me that the firmware might be corrupt or need an update. So I held the reset button in for a longer time to restore the router. I started again, got to a point where I could update the firmware, it was going along and then the light went out again. Any ideas before I return this thing. I'd be more confident but I had install issues with the first one that we bought and Netgear gave up. Either i have some kind of bad luck or I don't know whatWi-Fi Adapter - internet speed slowness
Moved a desktop computer, Windows 11 Pro, to a room without wired ethernet. Desktop about 5 years old. Purchased a Wi-Fi Adapter, Nighthawk, to get internet. Installation was easy. Using an internet speed program I get 25Mbps download with the adapter. My laptop in the same spot gets over 150Mbps. The USB adapter is plugged into a v3.0 port (blue). What could be the problem? USB v3.0 are supposed to be much faster. Thanks!Solved1KViews0likes3CommentsA7000 Windows Drivers, not the installer
Hey there, Trying to install Windows 11, but it needs a network connection to go. I am nightmarishly aware that the driver page here exists, but that is an installer package that assumes Windows is already installed and running. Extracting the contents of the installer using 7zip does not help; the driver files are encoded into the installer file. I need the actual raw driver files that Windows can recognize so I can get this install going. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.1.2KViews0likes1CommentTwo RBR10 bases in AP mode?
I have an RBR10 AC1200 Orbi base unit in AP mode and two RBS10 satellites. These do a great job covering the office wing of our church. This WiFi network can be accessed, but is faint in the sanctuary half of the church. I’d like to extend the mesh to include the entire complex. There is no LAN connection available in the middle of the complex - only in either wing. I don’t want to daisy-chain satellites over WiFi from the offices to the sanctuary - I’m afraid that would hurt throughput. Can I create another AP from the ethernet LAN in the sanctuary wing and “connect” it to the existing mesh? I don’t believe the RBS10 satellite has an ethernet LAN connector, so couldn’t use another of these as my 2nd AP. Could I take a second RBR10 base, configure it as an AP like the one in the office wing? The two base APs can chat via wired LAN. But would would they play nice and create a cooperative single wide mesh? Note - neither base is working as router, or DHCP host. Just working as AP node.SolvedNew EAX15 Mesh Extender - I have a few questions
Hello, this is my first post. Although I am a long time Netgear user! For over 2 decades, I have used two of their cable modems, some Wi-Fi routers, Wi-Fi adapters and many of their venerable 4, 8, and 16 port switches for the home! The EAX15 is the latest Netgear hardware to add to my list! First of all, it works great! I mean, my network setup is fairly simple and kind of old. But it works very well for extending my old 802.11n 2.4 GHz network just fine! I was worried that it may not support that old stuff... Firmware:1.0.3.36 Not explicitly listed on the configuration website mywifiext.local (why?)... but it's up to date and Netgear's site says 1.0.3.36. Model: "EAX15-100NAS" That's written on UPC code portion of the box above serial number, MAC and so forth numbers. The forum suggested there might be a V2 or V3 version of EAX15, but I don't see that anywhere. I guess it's just EAX15. So I have a few questions: Being an old user of home network appliances, I was able to quickly plug my computer into the Ethernet jack of the EAX15 and configure the "conventional" way as expected. The IP was a bit different, but that was easy to figure out. To my dismay, I noticed that documentation neglects telling users about this capability and instructs them to install the Nighthawk App. I installed the app and noticed it wanted me to create an Internet account and provide information to Netgear not relevant for the local network device ... like, Location? OK, maybe it's for Wi-Fi regulatory domain. But still... why wouldn't you document the "old fashion" way to do this? And why would you require an Internet account and collect lots of data from our phones for a strictly local network appliance? This is probably a dumb question. But why can't this product simply amplify or repeat a signal on specific frequencies? Why do you need a man-in-the-middle computer to serve simultaneously as an access point and wireless client? This device is way more complicated in functionality than I thought it would be. I use Adguardhome to protect my elderly father from scams and malware (and helpless devices). I logged into it today and noticed that my EAX15 queries netgear.com about 200 times per hour. What exactly is my strictly local network device communicating with Netgear? I've attached s screenshot of part of my adguardhome statistics page for context. Anyway, I'm otherwise very pleased with the device. It works great! Good job Netgear!868Views0likes1Comment
