Hello, Here is what I am trying to accomplish. Building A - 192.168.0.x Building B - 192.168.1.x I have a ubiquiti wifi antenna that is connecting both buildings for the SOLE purpose of building B, accessing building A's NAS Drive, 192.168.0.10 I have been told a bunch of how to scenarios, but i cant get it working right as in segmenting each network separate so both DHCP servers do not conflict. I want both networks to remain independant, only a handful of PC's at building B to access the Nas Drive at building A. (A VPN was not able to accomplish this fast enough, even with Gigabit Internet, SMD doesn't like VPN's). So i was told on the srx5308 to plug one of the antenna's into one of the Quad WAN Ports, lets say Wan2.. Give it a /29 IP Address. Then do the same on the other building (which has a non-netgear firewall).. but for now lets concentrate on the setup in building B with the Srx5308. This is what i was told: On the SRX5308 plug the bridge into one of the spare WAN ports and assign a small subnet (e.g. 172.16.10.1/29). Page 127 of the manual tells you how to setup static routes. Problem is, the srx5308 won't let me do this unless i put in a gateway and dns servers on the Wan2 port as far as i can tell. Also do i turn on DHCP on that /29 range or leave it solo and static the IPs in it.. Fwiw, i had this working buy just plugging everything in and using IP ALias's on the windows machines, but the dhcp servers on both ends could obviously not coexist.. I need to keep the network separate but have this one tunnel to get to that nas drive thru the antenna connection (the buildings are approx 900 ft away, the antennas work very very well). Appreciate any assistance.Solved155Views0likes24CommentsSupport LACP L2+L3 hashing on XS series switches
The XS series switches only support L2 hashing with LACP (802.3ad), apparently only the managed switches support anything beyond L2. The ReadyNAS units support L2, L2+L3, and L2+L3+L4 out of the box. Could the upper tier web managed switches please have at least L2+L3 support added? I'm not talking about going crazy and adding more than that. Should be a relatively minor change, the UI changes would likely be more involved than the protocol changes. It should be a big benefit to the ReadyNAS users.11KViews1like1CommentReadynas 312 network issues
We have 6 ystems connecting to a share on our ready nas 312 and up until about two weeks ago everything was fine. The share is mapped to local systems as the "N" drive and everyone has read write access to the folder and sub-folders. Now when accessing a file - we somertimes receive a lost connection to network drive message which happens if we are already in an open file or accesing a folder. After 10 or so minutes access is reaqcuired and the file can be modified but it is making the system unusable. We are updated to the most current firmwar and recently I feel the issue caused the volume records in the system to get wiped out and Netgear tech support had to remote into the system to correct. Has anyone experienced this issue?685Views0likes1CommentNetgear Orbi RBK40 bridging in a Macbook
Hi all, I've a new Orbi RBK40 which is 3 months old but somehow not able to get phone support so I'm asking here. I've set up an Ethernet bridge in my Macbook (under settings, network, make a new bridge) and have connected my Internet router by Ethernet cable to the Macbook successfully. I now want to add the Orbi RBK40 to the Macbook via another Ethernet cable and get it connected to the bridge. Unfortunately the light shows purple and not white meaning it's not working as expected. Wifi from the Orbi doesn't work. Can the Orbi join a bridged network? If so how? I don't want to connect the router to the Orbi and Orbi to the Macbook. This was my old setup and setting it this way works fine. I'm trying to force the Orbi and router to be on the same subnet in the bridge I setup in the Macbook. Any suggestions? Thanks Cheers, KinSolvedAccessing old static IP after switch to Orbi
Hello- Quick question. I just upgraded to AT&T Fiber and the Orbi RBK50. I have the AT&T in pass-through mode and use the Orbi as my primary router. Unfortunately, I forgot before the switch over that there were some static IP addresses assigned with my old router on a totally different subnet. They are devices that are difficult to hardwire (ip camera, whole home system component), and I would like to be able to ping them. What would be the least obtrusive method to do this? Orbi is on 10.0.0.x and the old system used 192.168.1.x. I know I could change the gateway on the orbi temporarily to access the old devices. But finally having everything working well, I'm worried it will cause issues when I switch back. Maybe I am just being hyper-nervous? Any help would be much appreciated.upgrade from 6.8.1 to 6.9 disabled eth0,1,2,3
I upgraded my readynas 4220 from 6.8.1 to 6.9.0 and the three onboard ethernet ports are showing DHCP enabled in the gui but do not link to the switch. It seems as if they are administrativly disabled. I have tried factory reset and os reinstall as well as restoring the network configuration from a 4220 with the same configuration (as a matter of fact they are of exactly the same manufacturing run so the motherboards are identical) with no sucess. how can I get the system to rediscover (actually renable) the onboard ethernet ports?Solved1.5KViews0likes3CommentsPLW1000 turns on lamp
When I plug in and power up the PLW1000 it triggers the touch lamp that's on the same circuit. Here's what I know and/or have tried. putting a magnet clip-on thing onto the lamp's cord no different circuits in the room. Just the one. moved the PLW1000 to a different room (different circuit) and it works fine but range is not as good. Any idea how to resolve this? Hi, I've been having trouble getting a wired connection with my Netgear Extender after we replace our Xfinity router due to the previous one being fried during a storm. It's been giving me Unidentified Network/ Ethernet doesn't have a valid IP configuration. My current setup is a Cisco Xfinity Modem/Router Hybrid Model DPC3941T in the main office on the main floor and the EX7300 Netgear Extender in the basement set up as an extender. WiFi is strong and is working normally, only the wired connection is giving me a hard time. I have some knowledge/experience with troubleshooting and have already tried most of the basic troubleshooting steps to see what was wrong. - Factory reset the extender / modem / router - Replaced ethernet cable - Used a switch between the extender and computer - Did multiple ipconfig /release /renew with no results - Did the netsh commands to reset TCP/IP reset - Uninstalled the network driver / reinstalled with the current driver / tried using older driver - Did sfc /scannow - Gave the extender a static IP - Gave the computer a static IP / 10.0.0.1 / 192.168.1.1 / 192.168.0.1 as gateways I am getting a connection from the ethernet port on the EX7300 so it's not hardware related and more on the computer side. I've probably visited hundreds of sites and forums and tried the solutions there but my situation stayed the same. Here's my ipconfig /all Windows PowerShell Copyright (C) 2016 Microsoft Corporation. MacOS
I was wondering if anyone is having this same expereince. I have a new 626x, all drives filled, x-raid, connected to a Netgear XS708E 10GbE router, and I'm getting very slow speeds over 10GbE. Not even 90MBs. I was getting better speeds though my Pioneer Pro. My mac is connected to the router though a Promise Technolgy Sanlink2 by thunderbolt. I know I have to tinker with the settigs on each device to get the best performance, but it shouldn't be this slow, should it? Any advice would be appreciated.Solved6.4KViews0likes13CommentsMultiple IP Addresses
Hello community, I've been using a ReadyNAS Pro 6 for a very very long time and over the years not really bothered much with it's configuration as it was mainly used as a storage dump however unless I am mistaken it still lacks the basic ability to add multiple IP Addresses to the same interface whether that be eth0 / etho1 or even a bonded interface. Why? Only having the ability to assign a single local IP to a storage device is something you did a decade ago, keeping with current times, we should have the ability to assign any number of IPs to any number of interfaces. Am I just being synical or is there a reason for not having this ability in the web interface? (This topic may have been touched upon in the past)4.4KViews0likes6Comments
