I have several Netgear Pro6 systems. They were upgraded to RaidOS 6.10, Intel E7600 CPUs and 4GB ram and are working great (had to recap the Seasonic power supplies since the caps were bulging). I also have an Ultra 6. I noticed the Ultra 6 uses (without drives plugged in) 19.5 watts while the Pro6 with E7600 CPUs and no drives plugged in uses 55-60watt. With the original Intel E2160 CPU the power consumption is not much different. I would like to downgrade the CPUs on the Pro6s I have to a single core model which uses as little as possible electricity. I only use them for storage, nothing fancy and since Ultra6 is fast enough with that Atom a single core Celeron in Pro6s should also be fast enough. Anyone knows what CPU should I look for ?35Views0likes3CommentsReadyNAS Pro 6 data volume split during resync
One of my drives got a bit warm, so I took it out to let it cool down. During the resync, another drive had some issues, so now rather than one 33.6tb volume, I have two volumes: 13.6tb (data-0) and 20tb (data). I know it's a long shot, but is there any chance of recovering the original volume, or should I just start my plex library again? I'm comfortable enough using PuTTY to SSH in for any commmand line level stuff if it's fixable, and can provide logs on the off chance the seemingly legendary StephenB sees this post!32Views0likes2CommentsNew Router = Can't Find RN424 drives
My RN424 is connected to a netgear network switch (GS116), and the switch is connected to a ~20-year-old T-Mobile TM-AC1900 router (rebadged ASUS router), which connects to my DSL modem. This setup has been stable for at least 20 years, has survived power outages, etc. But it is time to move on from DSL. I am attempting to evaluate T-Mobile Wireless Internet, and to that end, I obtained the T-Mobile Internet Gateway. However, when I disconnected the existing router and internet connection from the network switch, and plugged in the wireless gateway, the PC's on the network no longer see the network drive. I can access the internet fine from all wired PC's (after they are rebooted) and via wifi, using the wireless gateway, but my primary PC (W10) now says that the mapped network drives are in use. I assume that the other W10 and W11 PC's on the network are the same, but I haven't checked. I removed the wireless gateway and reverted back to the old router and internet connection, and everything is operating as it was. I am considering connecting the wireless gateway to the old router's WAN port so that the old router, with its network control functions, will still be inline to see if that works, but I thought I'd check for advice here first. After all, I want to retire the old router as well. I am not a network expert, although I did get this all this up and running years ago and have "managed" the network since then. Any advice on how I can remove the old router and install the new network gateway with the least trouble possible?95Views0likes10CommentsReadyNas 102 IPv4
Danke für die Hilfe I own a ReadyNas 104, which has worked flawlessly so far. Since I was on vacation, I shut down the system. After I restarted the system after my vacation, I no longer had access to the network drives. So I logged into the administrator page. Here I get a message telling me to remove the inactive volumes. I then stumbled across this thread online: RN424 Volume nach Neustart nicht mehr vorhanden | NETGEAR Communities What can I do to restore the volume and access the data? I greatly appreciate your help.21Views0likes1CommentRemove inactive volumes to use the disk. Disk #1,2. troubleshooting
I had previously posted this thread Remove inactive volumes to use the disk. Disk #1,2,3,4. troubleshooting | NETGEAR Communities but I had to wait for replacement disks that i bought during the summer. Now I started the ReadyNas 104 and I see error "Remove inactive volumes to use the disk. Disk #1,2." In the previous post it looked like disks 3 and 4 were ok but now i dont see them in the volumes section Given the different status I have not tried yet to enter in support mode and do any other steps. I looked at logs and given there might be some personal info i am not sharing them all but smart, kernel and some other that look relevant but I dont really see any new logs. Hi everyone, I currently maintain a small web tool (for example a gratuity / end-of-service benefit calculator for users in the UAE), and I’m evaluating options to host user data, logs, JSON storage files, and backups. My ideal setup is a lightweight, always-on system without needing a full server. That’s where ReadyNAS caught my interest. Some of the things I’m considering: Using ReadyNAS to host REST APIs, static JSON or YAML config files, and backing up user session data. Ensuring data integrity and performance — especially under concurrent access. Handling firmware updates without breaking API endpoints. Syncing backups to cloud or another NAS for redundancy. A few questions for those experienced with ReadyNAS: 1. Has anyone used ReadyNAS to back a small web service or tool (not just file server)? 2. What is the maximum recommended concurrent requests for lightweight API files (JSON) on ReadyNAS? 3. Which methods have you used for version-safe firmware updates so that custom services are not lost? 4. How do you handle secure access (SSL, tokens) when serving APIs from a NAS that’s also storing private user data? If anyone’s already built similar backend or microservice setups using ReadyNAS, I’d love pointers or pitfalls to avoid. Thank you!73Views0likes1CommentReadyNAS 3138 - Discard volume(s) - inaccessible volumes help
Hi all, I had a disk fail {4} and another {2} disconnect afterwards in a four disk X-Raid setup, and seem to have botched the resync. I have several ReadyNAS devices running the latest firmware version 6.10.10 (214, 104, 312, etc.). I was able to configure all of them so that, after a proper shutdown and subsequent power off, they wouldn't restart when the power was turned back on. However, I can't do this with this one ReadyNAS 214. After turning on the power, the ReadyNAS starts up with a delay of several seconds. How can I prevent this?59Views0likes4Comments
