RND2000
1 TopicIdentifying my Unit and Reviving it
I'm trying to identify what unit I have. On the front panel, it says "ReadyNAS Duo" (no version number). On the underside label, it says "ReadyNAS Duo RND2000 v2". I can see that this has been a topic before. I've read https://community.netgear.com/discussions/readynas-use/netgear-readynas-duo-rnd2110-v2-factory-reset/1565360 That article says a v1 runs 4.1.x firmware (fair enough RAIDar says my unit is running 4.1.16) and might have a label on the back that says v2. This is, indeed, one of the sources of confusion. I'm also advised to look for a model number, but isn't that RND2000? I see the 4.1.16 firmware version available for download. It has a note to say it applies to the RND2000v1. I also see the RAIDiator-arm Version 5.3.13 with a note that says it's for the RND2000v2. The layout of the fan / ports on the back of my machine resembles the hardware manual for the "ReadyNAS Duo and NV+" NOT the manual for the "ReadyNAS Duo v2 and NV+ v2". So, I'm pretty sure I have the v1. A further convincer is that I've held the reset button while turning on, watched the LEDs flash once, then 25 seconds alter another flash and released the reset. I think this has initiated a Factory Reset. But what on Earth is the source of this ticket saying RND2000v2? Why is my RND2000v2 actually and RND2000v1 running firmware 4.1.16? The factory reset continued for 4 hours, which I think is a reasonable time to synch 4Tb drives. RAIDar has changed from "Volume C is syncing, 0% complete" to "Healthy". When I open the NAS in the web browser, it shoes me 192.168.1.117/shares but there are no shares listed. In fact that subwindow is just plain white. (I think this is the point where someone tells me the NAS only accepts a 2Tb drive.) Can anyone help me with any of my confusion, please?
